Sawyer Shepherd is an eighteen year old on a road trip across the country. He lost his family in a tragedy years before, and is just trying to find his way. He stops in Sage City, Colorado for the scenic views, but soon learns he's not the only one. A greedy developer awakens a dark evil set on devouring the town, one person at a time.
As Sawyer joins forces with Eli, the town drunk, and a Parks intern named Mandy, but they discover there is more to the demon in Sage City than meets the eye.

Sawyer, Mandy, and Eli travel to St. Louis when a mysterious figure reaches out to them. This figure, a Zeitgeist, warns of impending doom.
Meanwhile, a killer has emerged, wielding a blood red blade that seems to come from his own body. A new kind of monster means a new kind of mystery. But how does the Zeitgeist, the killer, and Lucius Furr, the billionaire, all connect?

Sawyer heads to his hometown, years after the tragedy drove him away. He's seeking answers, trying to understand the destiny that has been laid out before him. Were his parents' deaths all part of that?
As Sawyer prepares to face a dark figure from his past, one that he never realized was truly evil, he'll call upon old friends, and his new ones in a battle that sets the endgame in motion.
