    •  The deadliest enemy is the one on the same side of the line as you.- Remington Dean

    • Keep askin’ the wrong questions of the right people. - Dean

    • There are a thousand stories in these mountains- tell a different one.  -Dean to Ashleigh

    • “You know, it’s a common misconception that you need more than one bullet to kill a man.”  Dean stepped back a few feet, his hand moving to his hip slowly, almost as if he wasn’t going for his piece.  “Goes along with that belief that just bein’ fast is enough.”

    • “I saw this painting once, in a big fancy house down in Texas.  I thought it was a picture, it looked so real. So human. But the closer I got; I realized it was just a painting.  When you look at a painting from a distance, it can look very lifelike.  Very real.  But as you step closer, you see the imperfections, the brushstrokes, the odd colorations that are just not…quite…human.  It’s very much like real life.  From a distance, people look very real and very trustworthy.  But the closer you get, the more the lies show through.”- Dean

    • I think I need to have a chat with the waitress before she steps in something she can’t wipe off.”
      Samuels looked confused.
“You grow up in the city?” Dean asked.
      “Colorado Springs, why?”
“Cuz you don’t know how hard it is to get crap off your shoe when you step in it.  And if she reports on anything she heard this morning, she will step in some dangerously slippery dung.”

    • Folks think the hard part is hitting the target.  It’s not.  The hard part is what you do after the blood is spilt and the cobalt in the air clears.  The hard part is finding how to be a man who can take a life and still be a good man.  When I figure that out, I’ll let you know.”--Dean

    • “Do you enjoy killing Dean?” Ben asked.  “Because I know you pray over them, and you talk about feeling bad, but I can read people, too.”
Dean was silent for a minute or two.  “I’m good at it, Samuels.  Better than any man has a right to be.  Now, some folks see that as a blessin’ but I see it as a curse.”

    • “Those men were there to kill someone- whether it was us or the Windsors. My job is to stop the bad guys. Sometimes I have to stop them permanently.” Sadie

    • “Look, I just happened to overhear a conversation that led me to this investigation. A good reporter follows the story.” Ashleigh Storms

    • “Now, boys, you gotta be careful with your words. While I think you mean put my hands up, ‘reach’ also means for me to pull my gun. And you don’t want that.” -Dean

    • Sadie laughed. “What would you have in common with drug dealing hillbillies?”
Dean stepped out of the jeep and said to Sadie, “I guess we both got a bit of darkness in our souls.”
